What is the procedure for obtaining and importing archived CCCI donation data into TntMPD?

Hi most of the fields above are self-explanatory. But can you tell me what the ACCT_NAME field is? Where is it defined?

Also, just to make sure I understand, PEOPLE_ID is a unique field for the person in TntMPD. How do I find out what that number or ID is for an existing contact?

Also, DONATION_ID is a unique ID for each donation. Is that right? If I understand this correctly, donor 1 gives 2 gives in the same month, $100 and $125, then each is a separate entry with its separate DONATION_ID, and they both will be combined and shown as a single monthly gift, right?

In Christ,

David Cox

Hi David,  All those fields are explained here:  www.tntware.com/.../how-would-i-send-our-staff-a-monthly-or-weekly-tntmpd-datasync-file.aspx

The donor id doesn't come from TntMPD, it comes from your donation processing system.  If no donation processing system, make something up.  It just needs to be consistent and unique per donor.

The donation id needs to be unique over all time for all gifts.

Hi Troy. I am trying to understand the DONATION_ID field as well, because my organization doesn't yet provide one, so I'm prepared to make one up. However, I'm confused by, "It just needs to be consistent and unique per donor." I understand you're saying that every donation gets a unique code, but I notice in the examples I've seen that these codes are generally five characters with the first two characters always being the same.

My questions are:

Which part of the DONATION_ID must be "consistent"? (Consistent per the donor? Consistent per .csv sheet? Consistently unique?)

Is there a risk to designing my own DONATION_ID code system if my organization later develops one?

Unique means that no two donations share the same donation id.

Consistent means that if I ever see the same donation again (in a future import) it will still have the same donation id.
