New version of TntMPD: 2.0 r34
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd like to announce the latest release of TntMPD 2.0 (r34). This latest release builds upon the features and quality of previously released versions from this last summer. In this new release, you'll find two dozen bug fixes and more than 50 new features and enhancements based primarily on feedback from TntMPD users like you! To upgrade, you can either click on "Check Web for Updates" under the "Help" menu in TntMPD, or you can click on the following link. If you're curious about what the specific changes are, click on the [What's New?] link at:

TntMPD ventures out into other operating systems (Windows Vista, Macintosh, Linux)!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TntMPD now fully supports installing and running on Windows Vista.
On the Macintosh, you currently have 5 different options! Running TntMPD on Virtual PC has always been reported to be a painfully slow experience. But now Macintosh computers are shipping with Intel chips, and this is speeding things up significantly in terms of running TntMPD. These options are covered in the section "Ways to run TntMPD on your Macintosh..." on this page:
http://www.tntware.com/tntmpd/install_or_upgrade.htmSupport for Linux and Macintosh via a product called CrossOver is being worked on. This work is mostly being done for the Macintosh, but it seems to be working for Linux as well. I have been testing this on a Mac Mini and Ubuntu Linux, both with good results. Although this is still considered "experimental", I see running TntMPD on CrossOver as having the most potential for integrating well with the operating system and other applications. Until I remove the "experimental" status, it's probably good to stick with another solution such as Boot Camp or Parallels. But if you're very motivated to help with testing and feedback, more information can be found here:

TntMPD Speaks Five Languages! That's still not enough...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TntMPD speaks 5 languages: Spanish, German, Russian, French and English! If you're fluent in another language and an avid user of TntMPD, we could use your help! Translating TntMPD into another language is not complicated, and should not be too time consuming. If you have the language skills, and availability, you can be used to open doors for hundreds of missionaries who aren't able to use TntMPD. Think about it: It is estimated that TntMPD saves each missionary who uses it about 4 hours of administrative tasks per month. Now multiply those 4 hours per month times 100s of missionaries. Please pray how God might use you this way. If you're interested, please contact Troy Wolbrink at: troy.wolbrink@ccci.org

Are you getting an error message about missing "Microsoft CryptoAPI for COM 2.1"?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A recent security update to Microsoft Windows XP was release last week that may cause the following error message when you start TntMPD: "This program requires Microsoft CryptoAPI for COM 2.1.". There are several different ways to resolve this issue:
1. If you've already installed this latest version of TntMPD, just click on "Yes" to repair TntMPD's installation.
2. Upgrade TntMPD to this latest version.
3. Under the "Start" menu, click on "Run...". Copy paste the following text and click OK:
regsvr32 capicom.dll
4. Repair TntMPD's installation. This option is available in the "Add/Remove Programs" control panel in Windows.
