Editing Address Information

You can edit the Home, Business, and Other addresses by double-clicking inside the yellow area of any box. From there you can switch between all three addresses using the drop-down box.

Phone Numbers

Email Addresses

Note about the way TntConnect handles email addresses for married contacts: If the husband and wife have separate 'preferred' email addresses, then TntConnect will generate a separate merge row for each (for example, "Dear Husband," and "Dear Wife,". But if there is only one preferred email, TntConnect will combine them into one row for the single email address: "Dear Husband and Wife,".

Updating Spouse Contact information

The check box to the left of the email identifies an email as "Preferred", meaning it will be available for use in email/MailChimp merges. If you have alternative email addresses you want to keep but not use, just leave the box unchecked (sometimes you may want to keep an invalid email address for historical purposes, or to get in touch with the donor to see if it's correct.)

If you click the down-arrow next to George or Jane, TntConnect will expand and display every available email/Internet field for the select person, including the email greeting/salutation. These include Skype, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

Can you please provide some description of the function of the "MAILING" checkbox on the address edit window? Thanks!

Each contact has three address options, Home, Business, and Other (four actually, if you include "Spouse Business"). But when you are sending your addresses to a newsletter producer or mail merge, TntMPD needs to know WHICH address you want to be the "Mailing" address. Each contact can only have one Mailing address.

Excellent, thanks, Bob! I was guessing it might be something like that, but it helps to know for sure without having to experiment. :)

Under the section "Email Addresses", the text says just beneath the image:

"The check box to the LEFT of the email identifies an email as "Preferred", meaning it will be available for use in email/MailChimp merges."

BUT THE IMAGE SHOWS THE FANCY CHECK BOXES ON THE RIGHT ARE USED WITH MAIL CHIMP.

FOR CLARIFICATION, WHEN SYNCING WITH MAIL CHIMP, IN THE EXAMPLE ABOVE, WILL MAIL CHIMP SEND THE EMAIL TO 2 EMAIL ADDRESSES (left check boxes) OR 3 EMAIL ADDRESSES (right check boxes)?

Thanks bunches!!

The picture is right, the text is wrong.  "Valid" is on the left, and "Preferred" is on the right.  TntMPD syncs email addresses that are both valid and preferred with MailChimp if the contact is an email newsletter recipient.

Sometimes TNTConnect puts the address details for contacts in brown. I've not been able to work out why. Any clues?

Click on it and you'll see.  This means that the organization has some new info on this contact for you to consider.

I am working on updating many of my contacts and just curious how to use the Facebook option on the Address Tab? Is it supposed to be interactive as in a clickable link like an email? If so, what is the proper input for this cell?

@Keith Lavery, You should put in a link to the person's Facebook profile.  That way you can quick pull up their Facebook page before calling them.  It's just a hyperlink.  You can put any hyperlink in it.

Troy,

Greetings!! I have sent this email two or three times to 'TntConnect Forum' <tntconnect_forum@tntware.com> but I am getting bounce messages. I'll send it again now to 'Troy Wolbrink' <troy@tntware.com>,

I'll include it here without the pictures.

Troy,

Greetings from Zambia!! Hope this finds you well.

It has been a long time since your email below of July of last year. I have not bothered to try to fix the upgrade to TNT 4.1 until today as I knew I was switching to a new  computer. Now that I have switched,  I tried today to follow your instructions:

When I do File/Rebuild Database I get this:

I hit OK several times and always the same result, so then I tried “Update Available” . I click on “Upgrade Now:

Then I got this:

I have no older databases to restore to. If I try the last one listed here;

I get the same messages as above like this one:

So it is a cycle that I can’t break free from. I am still using version 4.0.

Any suggestions as to how to fix the above?

Thanks,

Ken

Subject: Re: [TntConnect Forum] (TntConnect 4.1.3 - PC) Error when upgrading database from version [4.0]., , You cannot add or change a record because a related record is required in table 'Contact'

Install TntConnect 4.0 from this link:  download.tntware.com/.../SetupTntConnect.exe

This will get you back to where you were.

The problem is your database.  You can (and should be able to) rebuild your database to verify the integrity of the file.  Under the "File" menu, click on "Rebuild Database".

If rebuilding your database results in errors, you should restore a backup (File | Restore).

Try to choose the most recent backup that you can successfully and open and rebuild.

Once you're at this point, you'll be able to upgrade to TntConnect 4.1 without this error.

Hi Kssawka,  Instead of trying to email something into the forums, pull up the forums at www.tntware.com/.../forums and then click on "Write A New Post".  --Troy
