TntMPD 2.1

TntMPD 2.1 is an exciting release, as it integrates the community aspect of tntware.com into TntMPD itself.  This has alot of potential to help people get the help they need when they need it.  Please download and install it, and please check it out.  I'll go over the changes below and try to explain each one...

CHANGE - Must now login to database under a user account w/ optional password.

When you first login to your database, you'll have do so under a named user.  You'll be prompted to create a new user the first time you do this.  You can add new users later.

Next time you login to your database, you'll be prompted to login.  If you don't want to be prompted every time, you can check the box "Keep me signed in on this computer".  If you decide to change the user later, you can do so under the "File" menu by clicking on "Switch User".

If you have "TntMPD Pro" turned on, the first user will be an Administrator, and that person will be able to create new users and designate them as administrators.

FEATURE - Added the option to require a password when logging in to a database.

FEATURE - Added Community integration view with tntware.com.

Click the "Community" button and login to tntware.com.  You're given the option to always be logged in to tntware.com in TntMPD, whenever you're logged in to the database as the current user.  By agreeing to this, your user account in this database is "registered" and has additional benefits such improved error reporting.

FEATURE - Error reporting for registered users is now direct to forum (no email required).

If your database user account is registered with tntware.com, you can report errors directly to the forums.

FEATURE - Added option for beta users to stay informed of new updates in the status bar.

If you're a beta tester, you'll WANT to check this option:

FEATURE - Added ability to link to Google Maps from a contact.

Now, you can right-click on an address and display a Google map.  You can also do this on the tool bar or under the "Contact" menu.

FEATURE - Added the option to explicitly specify an Internet proxy server.

By default TntMPD uses the settings in Microsoft Internet Explorer for this.  But if you want to override the settings for TntMPD, you can now do so.  To do this, under the "Tools" menu, click on "Options".  Then click the "Installation" tab.  Then click the "Advanced Internet Settings" button.

FIXED - "Windows - No Disk" error when clicking "File" menu should no longer be possible.

Hopefully, we've seen the end of this:

FIXED - Issue where a lookup favorite used by another could be renamed.
FIXED - Issue where F1 online help didn't work on certain language versions of TntMPD.
CHANGE - Added "Group | Export" menu to Contacts view to "File | Export Current Group".
CHANGE - Made wording stronger in prompts to delete all contacts in the current group.
CHANGE - Made Gift Input from Web label red: "These gifts will be removed from TntMPD:".
CHANGE - Improved display of errors when organization provides duplicate donation ids.

More fixes and subtle improvements.  Hopefully these should be self explanatory.

CHANGE - Added the ability for external tools to specify command-line parameters.
CHANGE - External tools parameter w/ "currentgroup.csv" are replaced w/ exported file.

This is a feature for 3rd party developers.  An example is provided via "send_group_to_notepad_tool.reg" in the "Developer Notes\External Handlers.zip" file in the installation directory.  The idea is that a 3rd party developer might want to develop a tool that acts on the current group, and now they have a way to do plug in to TntMPD.

Hopefully I've got you interested.  So here's the download link:
