New and Improved: TntConnect for Mac

For a few years, with some breaking changes introduced by Apple in 2020, we've been unable to publish an official "TntConnect for Mac", and had to require our users to install CrossOver or use a more complicated (but free) approach using Wineskin.

Thankfully we've been able to figure out a way forward with TntConnect for Mac once again. If you're on a Mac, I'd love for you to test this out and let me know what you find.

Note: You must be on macOS Monterey (from 2021) or newer.

You just download TntConnect for Mac and install it (drag it into your Applications folder), and then run it.

Then, you just need to choose the version you want.

TntConnect 4.1 BETA - New Gifts View!

TntConnect 4.1.0 BETA was just released. TntConnect finally includes a major view for gifts, similar to how it has a major view for tasks and history.

The Gifts view is conceptually quite similar to the History view. You can filter on gift type, campaign, currency and designation. It includes a chart to the right that displays the gifts over time, summarized by month. You can sort by any column, export to Excel and perform lookups based on the contacts shown. You can even pull up the Google Maps view to visualize your gifts geographically.

The gift types you might see are:

Synced (synced with your organization)
Pending (entered manually, but you send the gift to your organization, and now you wait for it to be synced)
Offline (entered manually, and you marked it as "not available on web").
Personal (entered manually, and you marked it as "Personal", like a Christmas or birthday/anniversary bonus).

If you have Promise tracking enabled, you'll also see:

Promise Made
Promise Kept

Thankfully, much of this work on the Gifts view spilled over to gifts section of the TNT tab on the Contacts view.

Another aspect that was given attention was task/history purpose. If you email someone to thank them, you might log the history as an Email task type, and mark the Purpose as Thank on the details tab of the history item. Now you can pull up all task or history with the purpose of Thanks, regardless of task type.

FIXED - When sorting task or history list by date, when a time is not present, it's now sorted correctly.
CHANGE - Contacts View, TNT tab, reworked layout of gifts list and chart area.
CHANGE - Moved Groups button below History button to match tab order on left side bar.
CHANGE - History View, changed "Last 2 Year" filter to "Last 24 Months".
CHANGE - History View, date filters "Last 12 Months" and "Last 24 Months" now start at the beginning of the month.
CHANGE - Google Maps pane can be resized with faster responsiveness.
CHANGE - ExportDataSetToCsvFile() modified so that when FieldsToExport is given, the order of that list it followed.
CHANGE - Slightly improved icon at top left of History view.
CHANGE - Task/History List, the "Schedule" menu item appears, but is grayed out when the database is in read-only mode.
CHANGE - Task/History List, the "Schedule" menu item now saves the current contact record before proceeding.
CHANGE - Improved consistency of displaying designations to filter on.
