An alpha release is the predecessor to the beta release. I don't usually perform alpha releases, because generally TntMPD is really stable and well tested. But this time it's necessary since TntMPD just went through a major compiler upgrade, and almost every bit of source code was touched.
I'd really like your testing and feedback of this release. But keep in mind that if you find issues you can't work around, you may have to revert back to an earlier release. Be sure to backup your database often. Please keep your feedback on this beta release within this beta testers forum (not the main forum).
As an additional bonus, this alpha release has vastly improved support for both installing and running on CrossOver (tested with CrossOver 9.0).
In terms of new features, there are only 2: The error dialog now enables searches for the problem you encounter, and GIF and PNG images can now also be used for a contact's picture. There's a few small fixes as well.
Note that support for Windows 2000 is dropped. Service Pack 3 is now required for Windows XP. And the TntCrypt program is no longer included.
