So, why do I need to download an add on program to run a program that was working fine on the older version for my MAC?

Apple changed the rules on Mac Catalina when they killed support for 32 bit applications.  CrossOver is a technical solution to help us get past this challenge set before us.

I have a MacBook Air that is about 5 years old. I run Mojave and don't want to upgrade further as to not slow it down.  Is adding this CrossOver going to slow down my computer?  Years ago maybe like 10 years ago, I had the Window division on my last Mac and it slowed it down a lot, and I didn't like having it divided like that, is it better now? If I still I'm running Mojave can't I just use an old version and be okay or will it have lots of cliches.  I already deleted my old version because I had to do a wipe clean of my computer. I didn't know this was going on with TNT.  I hate tech changes...

Good quesion, Carlos and Sarah.  CrossOver will not slow down your computer.  It's a very thin/light layer that allows TntConnect to run on your Mac without Windows and a complete virtual machine.  Once you have everything all setup, CrossOver will only be running in the background while TntConnect is running.  --Troy
