I don't think this works with Catalina.  I download the software from the above link, tried to launch it, and nothing happens.  Not sure why.  Any thoughts?

It doesn't work with Catalina.  We're hoping to get an update out later this year.  www.tntware.com/.../when-will-tntconnect-be-compatible-with-macos-catalina-10-16.aspx

Got it.  Just curious to know why you're not web based?  Seems like this would solve the OS compatibility issue and a host of other issues on both sides.

TntConnect is not web-based for several reasons.  1)  That's simply its legacy root, 2)  It works in places where there is no or slow (or expensive) internet., 3) It runs fast, 4) It's keyboard friendly, and I'm just scratching the surface.  I could go on.  :)  We're looking at various option for better web/mobile access to your information, down the road, but with TntConnect still primarily running on your Mac or PC.  --Troy

Hey :)

So I updated my mac book to OS X 10.15.1 and now I can't open the programme anymore...I deleted it and tried to download it again but it still doesn't work. Culd it be that TNT is not suitable yet for this new update of apple?

Thanks for your answer!

Kind regards

Anja

Understand all of those!  Thanks for sharing.  1 - legacy is good. Does that mean that's the platform where you're most comfortable?  Does the legacy make it hard to advance into the cloud?

2. Totally understand.  So it sounds like you're marketing to those in third world/developing nations.  Have you considered expanding your product line to those with cheap, fast, stable internet?

3. I would gladly trade speed for the knowing that if my hard drive crashes, I could pick up exactly where I left from any commuter in the world that has access to the internet.  Trading a little speed for never having to download software and try to sync the older version with the newer version is definitely worth it.

4. I'm not sure what you mean by keyboard friendly.  How does being web based make things less keyboard friendly?

5. I'd be interested in learning more about why a legacy product is better.  Unless your primary users don't have a good or inexpensive internet, I'd love to hear more about the reluctance to move to a cloud/web based solution.

Thank you, Troy!

Hi @Bobrien,  I have cheap, fast, stable internet, and for line-of-business applications like TntConnect, I still prefer installed applications because I find I'm more efficient with them.  When I was starting my business, I wasn't sure if I should go with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop.  I did a one-year trial and ran both in parallel.  After that year it was clear to me that I'm so much faster in QuickBooks Desktop.  If the computer hosting my TntConnect fails, I can pick up any computer with access to the Internet and pick up where I left off because I keep my database stored in my Dropbox folder.  If you're really desiring a web-based app for managing your support raising, there are many out there to pick from:  DonorElf, Karani, SupportGoal, MPDX, Sola and Simple Sam.
