Clearing or Exporting Tasks

Print this Topic Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

How you manage your tasks is up to you. For example:

If you have several Thank You notes to write, you could just check them off the task list as you write them.

If you have several phone calls on your task list, you may want to lookup the contacts, then go to the Task tab and manage from there.

If you want to print your task list to take with you, export some or all of your tasks to Excel and print them from there. Do what works best for you.

The buttons at the top will change depending on how many tasks you have selected. To lookup just one contact, use the menu.

Menu Path: Lookup | Lookup selected contacts

None, one or all contacts

More than one but less than all

Clearing Tasks

Completing a task works the same whether you are checking the box on the Task view or on the individual contact’s task tab. As soon as you check the box, TntMPD will automatically bring up the <Clear Task> box.

If you select "Attempted" on the drop-down box that says "Done", the task will still be removed from your task list even though it is not "Done". To log an attempt without clearing the task, right-click on the task and select "Log Attempt":

If you actually want to delete the task (and not complete it), then uncheck the Log History box. Otherwise, log the attempt as either Attempted, Done, or Received. You can change the default on the "Edit the logged history item after you click OK" on the Options.

Deleting Tasks

Sometimes you want to delete one, many, or all of your tasks. You can select any task and press the Delete key, or right-click and select Delete.

You can select many tasks by using your <Ctrl> key when clicking.

Or you can select a block of tasks by selecting the first task, then hitting Shift when clicking the last task. This will select all tasks in between. Again, press the Delete key, or right-click and select Delete.

I'm not sure I understand this statement  "To log an attempt without clearing the task, right-click on the task and select "Log

Attempt"  I know I do have a mac with Parallels and windows to run TNT, but usually in order to perform a right click you can use control click.  However, I'm not exactly sure where I am to be right clicking  or if control click doesn't work in the case.
