I by accident synced a gift to the wrong person but had the same last name. How do I switch the sync to the right person?

I can connect to my organizations server fine to download gifts. However, when it downloads, it shows there are no gifts to be added, when I know there are. Then, it wants to try and remove the gifts that have already posted to current donors. Any suggestions of what to do? Is it something on my end...

I've noticed recently that the gift download will often get stuck at a certain point and just seem to hang there. Occasionally, the only way out is to stop the process and at times I've even had to exit TntMPD entirely. Today, I just let it sit and after about 4 minutes the process finished ...
