*** ONLINE USER MANUAL ***
TntMPD now has an online manual to help you get started getting the most out of TntMPD. It includes such topics as "Getting Started in 10 Minutes",

*** SEND YOUR STAFF CONTRIBUTION DATA BY EMAIL ***
Up until now, the only way for an organization/ministry could use TntMPD to connect with their staff was to setup an online donation system (that is
compatible with TntMPD). Now there is an alternative. You can send your staff contribution data by email (ie. on a weekly/monthly basis), and they

TntMPD 1.6 r7 has just been released. In addition to several new features,
it includes dozens of bug fixes. It is recommended that you upgrade at this
time. TntMPD 1.6 has been available for almost two months now, and has
become quite stable.

To upgrade, start TntMPD and under the "Help" menu click on "Check Web for
Upgrade". If this menu option is not available to you, simply follow this

What's new?
- Support has been added for users of CharacterLink and other
content-filtered ISPs requiring a login.
- Added setup option to safe-guard TntMPD from connecting to the Internet.
(Useful for sensitive locations where Internet usage may be
scrutinized.)
- Added automatic check for duplicates when adding a new contact.
- Gift/Address Input from Web window can now be minimized.
- Added ability for TntMPD to download from the web from multiple sources.
(Useful for someone with multiple accounts.)
- Option to set that manual gifts entered are not available on the web.
(For those who manually enter alot of gifts, this option will ensure
that
they are not deleted when doing "Gift Input from the Web")
- TntTranslator: allows TntMPD's UI to be localized into other languages.

Experiencing slow downloads from CCC-USA's StaffWeb?
I have noticed that when trying to download all my names or all my gifts
that sometimes it is impossibly slow. If you have been experiencing this
also, you may be interested in checking out this article:

COMING SOON: Spanish version of TntMPD!
A Spanish version of TntMPD is already in progress thanks to our staff in
Mexico. (No timeframe on this, since this is the first translation of
TntMPD.)

TntMPD 1.1 r7 has been released.

This release

* introduces a new screen for manually adding gifts. (This is to help
our international staff and non-CCC staff. If you can import from the Web,
you will NOT want to use this new screen!)

* fixes a bug where the "Import from Outlook" feature would crash when it
tried to import a Distribution List and it would indicate "Interface not
supported".

**Attention CCC-USA users of TntMPD who still use Microsoft Internet
Explorer 4.0**

If you get a security warning when you attempt to use the "Web Input"
features of TntMPD this is because of a change with the StaffWeb that is not
100% compatible with your version of Internet Explorer. To get around this
problem, you can do one of two things:

* Upgrade Internet Explorer to 5.0 or newer.

For the rest of you more technically capable people...

I have done a major overhaul to the entire code base of TntMPD. I am in the
process of converting the entire application over to Unicode. Right now, I
would say that I am about 95% done. The benefits of doing this are
performance on Windows NT/2000 and more complete international support. I
have done some preliminary testing with this version, and currently I have
no known bugs to report. But one person can only do so much testing. If
you would like to help improve TntMPD by trying it out, please backup your
database, and follow this link:

From there you can download and preview TntMPD 1.5 r10. Any bugs you can
report would be very appreciated.

It now supports Windows XP. It adds several nice features to the "Web
Input" features, such as the ability to see your staff account balance.

TntMPD 1.4 has been released.

It's biggest change is the ability to track specific fund appeals. It also
adds the ability to track personally received gifts and non-cash gifts.

INFORMATION ON APPEAL TRACKING.

1. You can link any gift, history item, or task to an appeal. You will
see a new drop-down edit box where you can set this.

2. You can manually enter a check from a donor and link it to an appeal
before you mail it to Lake Hart.
3. You can view an appeal tracking summary under the menu: "Tools" |
"Appeal Tracking...".

The Contribution Report now has options as to wether you want to include
personally received gifts, gifts found on the StaffWeb, and gifts not found
on the StaffWeb.

TntMPD 1.2 has just been released with the following improvements:

New and improved Synchronize with Outlook 2000 feature.
- Completely rewritten to be very easy to use, yet more powerful.
- Existing items are matched accoring to their name to avoid duplicates.
- A single contact or the current group can be sent to Outlook.
- Categories can be used to choose which contacts you may want to import
from Outlook.

Full support for international names, addresses and phone numbers.
- Includes a comprehensive database of formatting information for 239
countries.
- Phone numbers are stored in international format for easy auto-dial
from any country.
- Addresses and names are formatted according to their country.
- Staff that change assignments between countries will have seamless
transitions in using their database.

Other features:
- Improved error recovery and correction when importing contacts from
text.
- Checkbox added to track deceased contacts.
- Task list can now be filtered by task description.
- Menu item added to task list for "Log Attempt...".
- User1-User4 can now store unlimited text.
- All phone fields can now store unlimited text.

Fixes:
- CCC Name would not get updated after it was first entered.
- Gift information for contacts were not automatically updated for
manual gift only users.
- A contact's name would be sometimes be hidden on top panel of contacts
screen.

To upgrade, just download and install the newer version. (This will replace
the current installation.)

1. Added Greetings and FullName fields. This will simplify your mail
merges tremendously, and this will give you greater control.

2. The "Contact List" is much easier and intuitive to scroll.
3. You can put up to 50 characters into the LastName field.
4. You can put up to 20 characters into the Title field.
5. Now you can track for the spouse: CompanyName, Profession, Hobby and
NickName.
6. You can specify your default country so that this country appear on
mail merges.

1. The Birthday Report is a little easier to work with.
2. All text fields for a contact are now trimmed before posting.
For example: " Troy ", "Wolbrink " is now cleaned up before
adding it to the database as "Troy", "Wolbrink"
3. Crusade Account numbers are now visible on main Contact window.
4. When an address or phone number is out of sync w/ CCC,
they appear RED.
