How can I include additional fields with MailChimp?

On the "Sync with MailChimp" dialog, click "Options..." to change options for syncing with your list.  (It might say "Select..." on older versions.)

Then click "Next" and you'll see this:

Click "Next" again:

Here you can select which fields you want to sync with MailChimp.

Is there a way to make the User 1-4 fields multiple choice in MailChimp instead of text fields?

Hi Suzy, That is not currently an option.  But I'll look into that idea.  --Troy

Is there a way to match fields? I have User fields in tnt with the same names as fields in Mailchimp, but they don't recognize each other upon sync.

No.  TntConnect creates the fields it needs if it can't find the ones it's looking for with the specific "merge tag".

In mail chimp I have been exporting from Google Contacts using these fields, which I find quite ideal:

First Name

Last Name (Contact person would be here when it was and organization and not individual in TNT)

Company (you call it organization name)

Referred By

Home Street

Home City

Home State

Home Postal Code

I don't see these options in TNT Connect, although all of these same fields are in TNT.  When I look at who opens my mail chimp emails, I like to be able to contact them with their home church, so the referred by field is very important to helping me see who is reading and keeping up with my mission's work.  The Address information just helps me to distinguish different churches from each other that have very similar names (First Baptist Church for instance.)

I don't care what the fields end up being called in mail chimp, so long as it will "update" my list each month for new folks who have signed up, and not overwrite it.  I like to see the "customer star rating levels" in mail chimp developing over time and see what emails each person opened or did not open if I ever need that on someone.

Any chance you could make this syncing just slightly more robust, especially by adding the "referred by" sync category from TNT connect where it came in through Google contacts via outlook?

Hi Charles,  Check out this FAQ article on how TntConnect syncs the contact's mailing address:  www.tntware.com/.../how-does-quot-sync-with-mailchimp-quot-work-in-tntconnect-3-0.aspx  Note that when a partner updates their mailing address, this is how TntConnect handles it:

•Logs a history

•Schedules a task to investigate

•Resets their changes back to what's in TntConnect (so be sure to check your tasks to investigate)

Is it possible to have the user fields filled in by Mailchimp? In my Mailchimp signup form I have a field to get peoples' interest in being contacted which I want to have show up in TNT as a user field. I followed the directions to have the user fields show up in Mailchimp and I can see they're all listed and any values that I've entered in TNT show up in Mailchimp. The problem I keep having, though, is that if I expose the user field in the signup form and the user enters information in it, when it syncs to TNT that information is deleted.

So it appears that during the TNT/Mailchimp sync process, the data for those user fields is only copied up to Mailchimp and not actually synchronized. So if the user field in TNT is blank (since I want it to be filled with the data coming from Mailchimp) and Mailchimp is showing a value, after the sync process the field in TNT is still blank and now the Mailchimp value is blank as well.

Is there any way around this? Or is this just the way the sync process functions? Since the user fields are the only customizable fields in TNT, it would be really helpful if they would accept a value from Mailchimp.

If that's not an option, I can change my form so that I just check on Mailchimp to see what people enter for that field and not have it sync to TNT. Less convenient, but not a terrible thing.

Thanks!

The User fields are synced only from TntConnect to MailChimp (one-way).

Hello

Is there a list of mailchimp mergetags and the correspondent TNT-Fields?

I have the problem that the address field isn´t synced correctly with mailchimp. In the journal it says after syncing with mailchimp: research changed email.. And then it shows a changed postal address... city and postalcode is the same, but street and house-nr. are omitted.

(after the update to 3.5.r19 )

In mailchimpo I used these fields for the address:

Mailchimp: EMAIL

Mailchimp: CITY

Mailchimp: ADDRESS

Mailchimp: STATE

Mailchimp: POSTALCODE

Mailchimp: COUNTRY

Now I also saw this tag in mailchimp: MMERGE7 (this includes all address fields as Street, City, Postalcode etc..)

Is TNT syncing with this merge-tag? Or does it use for each Address-field the correspondent field as mentioned above?

Greetings and Thanks.

TntConnect look for the fields using the merge tag.

Is Sync with Mail Chimp pushing TNT data TO Mail Chimp, or taking in data FROM Mail Chimp?

I just updated all my contacts' data in TNT and want TNT to be the "master list".  So I'm hoping to push out data TO Mail Chimp.

Thanks ... I'm a new, but fairly tech savvy user.

Hi Kelley, This article explains how the sync works:  www.tntware.com/.../how-does-quot-sync-with-mailchimp-quot-work-in-tntconnect-3-0.aspx  For the most part, TntConnect is "master list".  When you sync, any changes made to TntConnect will be logged in the history for you to review, and any additions or subtractions to your MailChimp list must be explicitly performed, so there are no surprises.

Thanks so much!  I went through the sync process and now see how it works.
