DonorWise Sample Database (2024-08-01)

This is an updated sample "ToonTown" database for DonorWise (inside the zip file).

This database is used with the self-study guide. It can also be used as a sample or test database for any ministry.

You may find it helpful to use the Backup & Restore Databases instructions, also available on the downloads page.

To use this:

1. Download the zip file.

2. Extract the .bak file from within the .zip file.

3. In DonorWise, under the "File" menu, click on "New Database".

a. Check the box to "Restore from backup file".

b. Click "..." and choose the .bak file you extracted in step #2.

Backup & Restore Databases

Making backups of your DonorWise database is an important step in ensuring the safety of your DonorWise database. While you will make your backup to the Microsoft SQL Server directory, it is critically important that you also copy your backup to an external drive or CD (using Windows Explorer or some other software). This is important because if the server that DonorWise is running on is no longer accessible (either because it crashes, is stolen, or destroyed by some unexpected incident) you will need an external copy to restore.
