In the United States, the majority of donors do not give through their bank (called Direct Deposit or EFT giving) but rather using paper "checks" that are mailed to the ministry. For American missionaries, this informational field is helpful for future lookups. Or, there may be times when you want to send a letter solely to those who are on direct deposit, for example when you want to encourage them as a group to increase their monthly amount. (You have to check this box yourself. TntMPD will not automatically detect a direct deposit giver.)

Outside of the United States, most donors give to ministries directly from their banks or via credit cards. In those cases, this field is not relevant.
