The Contact and Group Actions menus offer things you can do with either the selected contact or the entire Current Group.

Schedule Task
|
Same as the button on the Tasks Tab.

Log History
|
Same as the button on the History Tab.

|
Send e-mail
|
Opens your e-mail and addresses a blank e-mail message to the selected contact. You can also do this by clicking on the e-mail address on the Name & Address Bar.

Send Contact to (Default e-mail Program)
|
Sends this contact’s Address information to default e-mail program.
|
Call
|
Allows you to use your dial your phone through your computer (if you have it hooked up that way), or log a Call you made. You can also do this by clicking on the phone number on the Name & Address Bar.

Add Referrals

|
Brings up a table for you to add referrals from the contact you currently have selected.

View Magnified Address Window
|
Shows the contact’s name and address in a larger, separate box
Shortcut key: F12

View Organization Info

|
Shows you your organization's information about this donor, such as Donor ID#, address and phone your ministry has for this donor. Also shows other contact IDs associated with this contact.

View Details

|
Shows details of this contact's giving history and other details.

Cancel Changes
|
You can undo some changes; however, when you select another contact, all the changes you made to the previous contact are saved and cannot be canceled or undone.

Edit Contact
|
Same as pressing the button: Brings up the name and address box for the selected contact.

New Contact
|
Same as pressing the button: Opens a blank name and address box for you to add a new contact.

Delete Contact
|
Deletes the selected contact from your database. This will permanently remove this contact from your database, along with all gifts, tasks, and history associated with this contact. This is not reversible except by restoring a backup copy of your database.

Navigation
|
You can move up and down your list of contacts using your arrow keys or scroll bar. But for those who prefer using their keyboard:
Ctrl+PgUp (or Ctrl+Home) takes you to the first contact.
Ctrl+PgDn (or Ctrl+End) takes you to the last contact.
PgUp and PgDn take you up and down one screen at a time.

Group Actions Menu items

All menu items perform these tasks simultaneously for all members of the Current Group.
Schedule Group Task
|
Schedule a task for all members of the current group. (In practice, this would happen very rarely.)

Log Group History
|
The same as Log History found in several other locations. This is commonly used, such as logging when you send a newsletter or a support letter.

Create Mail Merge
|
Opens Microsoft Word's Mail Merge Helper for a variety of merge options.

Create E-mail Merge
|
Uses Microsoft Word's Mail Merge Helper to create a separate e-mail message for each contact in the Current Group. This allows you to merge individual greetings. This method cannot have attachments.

Create Mass E-mail
|
Goes directly to your e-mail program and sends one e-mail message to all recipients. You paste the recipients in your message's BC: (Blind Copy) field.

Send Group to (Default e-mail Program)
|
Sends the entire group to default contact manager.

Mass Change a Field
|
Mass Change a Field allows you to change any field for all members of the Current Group, all at one time.

Delete all Contacts in the Current Group
|
Will delete all members of the Current Group from your database, including all of their gifts, tasks, and history. Requires confirmation.

Export to Microsoft Streets & Trips
|
If you have Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007 or above, TntMPD will automatically recognize that and add this mapping software tool to your menu. Otherwise this menu item will not appear.
