Can I use a databse file that is stored on the internet?

I would love to run TntMPD on my laptop and my work computer. I was wondering if I could store the database file on the internet and use it from both locations? I can share a database file stored on my home server but haven't figured out if it's possible over the internet.

You might be able to use WebDav.

My wife would like to access and enter data into our database from her computer at home while I am doing it from outside the home.  So, we need to know how we can simultaneously use it over the internet.  Any easy way to do that?

Currently the only way 2 people can simultaneously use it over the internet is with a remote desktop or "go to my pc" type of solution.
